INTRODUCTION

Badminton is an Olympic sport that is played in about 151 countries in all five continents of the world. The sport has been played in Zimbabwe for a number of years now.

The current Badminton Association of Zimbabwe was established on the 19th of January 2008 in accordance with the local legal statutes. This was done with the intervention of Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA) in direct consultation with the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC), the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (ZOC) and other badminton stakeholders.

The Badminton Association of Zimbabwe has a mandate to regulate the Sport in the country and to set up a capacity development plan that should see the running and nurturing of schools leagues, clubs in schools, universities, uniformed and civil services, the corporate sector and the Zimbabwean community at large.

We invite you to join us on this exciting journey. We value your contribution and take pride in the success of our athletes. Badminton is fast evolving in all parts of the world, taking centre stage at events like the Olympics.
